The Hershey Company is an American company that was founded in 1894 by Milton S. Hershey as a subsidiary of his Lancaster Caramel Company. Their headquarters are in Hershey, Pennsylvania, along with Hersheypark. Hersheypark started as a leisure park for his employees. The Hershey Company is one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in the world but produces baked goods and drinks as well.

Nestle is a Swiss company that was founded in 1866 by Henri Nestle and was created by a merger with Anglo-Swiss Milk Company in 1905. Their headquarters is in Vevey, Vaud, Switzerland. Nestle is a food and drink conglomerate, who has around 6,000 brands. They manufacture products such as chocolate, baby food, ice cream, bottled water, snacks, pet food and more.

It is just a matter of preference when deciding between Hershey or Nestle. They make various items but both make cocoa powder, chocolate syrup and chocolate chips, along with their chocolate bars.

When it comes to chocolate chips, every company’s sugar and cocoa content differ from one another. Hershey’s special dark chocolate chips have 45 percent cacao and 53 percent sugar. Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Morsels have 47 percent cacao and 57 percent sugar. Which company’s product you like comes down to personal preference.

Hershey and Nestle both sell chocolate syrup that is regularly purchased for milk and sundaes. Nestle syrup comes in chocolate and strawberry. Hershey, on the other hand, has chocolate, strawberry and caramel flavored syrups available. On top of that, Hershey has other types like dark chocolate, calcium-added and different sugar percentages.

The difference between the two companies is the products they offer and the taste. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference when choosing between them. Even products that look similar are each made differently. Nestle is a food and drink company that makes chocolate and Hershey is a top chocolate manufacturer. Some top chocolate bars from Nestle include Kit Kat and Butterfinger while Hershey is known for Hershey Milk Chocolate Bars and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Whether you’re grabbing a Nestle Crunch Bar or a Hershey Krackel Bar, you can be assured you’re getting a quality product.
